The Trust is the ratified post-settlement governance entity and has received the settlement assets from the Crown. It is responsible for the overall management of the settlement assets. The Trust has a wider structure beneath it to efficiently and effectively carry out the functions of a Post-Settlement Governance Entity (PSGE).

The governance structure includes a commercial arm that the PSGE entirely owns.

The two existing Rūnanga are not able to be formally included as subsidiaries of the Trust, but the Trust Deed specifically allows for an Existing Rūnanga Agreement to be entered into between the Trust and the Rūnanga. This would be a contractual arrangement outside of the Trust Deed provisions.
