Rangitāne Tū Mai Rā Trust is the post-settlement governance entity for Rangitāne o Wairarapa and Rangitāne o Tamaki nui-ā-Rua (“Rangitāne”). It was established in March 2014 to receive and administer settlement assets from the Crown to Rangitāne to settle our historic grievances arising from breaches of the Treaty of Waitangi. Its name was inspired by the Rangitāne anthem Tū Mai Rā. Rangitāne Tū Mai Rā is accountable to all beneficiaries of Rangitāne.
The Trust has a small yet highly efficient team that run the day-day affairs of the Trust. The Trust’s main office is in Masterton; however, we have two staff based in the Tamaki-nui-ā-Rua rohe.
